We are looking for a Business Data Modeler with business domain knowledge and experience in business analysis, conceptual, logical data modeling and a passion for driving customer-centric data initiatives in the banking industry. Data modeling is a critical data management capability that helps ensure that our data is well-designed, unambiguous and effective in representing and supporting our business needs.

Your main responsibilities:

Data Modelling: perform Business Data Modelling (create business-oriented views of data) by designing and maintaining conceptual and logical data models for different logical data domains, and further developing and implementing modelling principles and guidelines.
Requirements Gathering: conduct and lead discussions with subject matter experts, Data Stewards, data models users and other stakeholders to understand and challenge the scope- and the content of the requirements. Translate these requirements into comprehensive data models that accurately represent the bank's business.
Data Governance: implement data governance policies and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements. (i.e identification of critical data elements)

The department and team:

The Expert Center Data and Analytics (ECDA) department consists of 35+ dedicated data professionals with a big heart for the business value of Data. ECDA consists of four teams: Data Science, Enterprise Data Office, Data Warehousing, Data Engineering & DBA. The department works with all functions of Knab and is Knab’s Center of Excellence for “all things data”. We play a key role in managing Knab data as a strategic business asset, providing actionable insights and intelligent analytics, innovate with AI and enable Knab to become the data-driven #1 bank for entrepreneurs. You will report to the Manager of Enterprise Data Office team while working closely with multiple stakeholders from various teams across Knab to help us achieve our common objectives.

Your Profile

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant field (i.e. Information science, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics). Relevant certifications (i.e data modeling techniques) would be a plus.
Advanced business analysis skills
Experience: minimum of 3 years of experience in data modelling, with a specific focus on data within the banking or financial services industry. Proven track record of successfully delivering conceptual and logical data models aligned with business requirements.
Data Modelling Skills: proficiency in Conceptual and Logical data modeling techniques. Strong understanding of business entities, relationships, and properties of financial products in the banking context.
Familiarity with data governance practices, data quality management, and regulatory requirements related to data management in the banking industry.
Analytical Skills: excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to analyse complex business requirements and translate them into effective data models.
Collaboration and Communication: Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, including business teams and technical specialists, to ensure alignment and understanding of data models.
Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Can bring across a message clearly and concisely.
Able to work under pressure in a focused and precise manner.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data management is an advantage.
Experience in Banking is a prerequisite
