Enterprise Data Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and understanding in data architecture, data governance, data modelling, reporting and data integration, is able to draft the roadmap towards the target state taking into account all dependencies in a complex landscape with many change programs.

As an Enterprise Data Architect you will be collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that data solutions align with business needs and overseeing various initiatives in the NN L&P data domain. You will be responsible for drafting the roadmap towards the target state and have a helicopter view on complex dependencies. You have experience with different strategies, tools and know what works and what doesn’t in which situation. You will be evaluating and recommending new technologies and tools for data engineering and analytics, while sharing knowledge with management, DevOps teams, and architects in an understandable way. You will set the principles, policies and standards and by participating in and hosting data solution design reviews you will also validate that solutions comply with data principles, policies and standards.

• Developing and maintaining data architecture principles & policies;
• Drafting Architectural Roadmaps and taking into account all dependencies;
• Developing and monitoring data models and lineage;
• Identifying opportunities for data management improvements;
• Applying best practices in translating the information needs of the business into possible data solutions;
• Communicating complex matters to stakeholders in a simple verbal and/or written way;

You’re a team player and service-minded and enjoy interacting with other professionals, with excellent stakeholder management, in- and outside of the team to enable change with a focus on controlled onboarding of changes in the daily operations. You have a proven ability to work cross-functionally to achieve goals and objectives and you have an analytical mind and love diving into data. Additionally you possess:

• 10+ years of experience at multiple organisations with data (solution) architecture in, preferably, the financial services industry;
• You have held the role of Enterprise Data Architect for at least the past 5 years at large scale companies with a complex (legacy) IT landscape;
• Good communication & presentation skills and you are organizational sensitive;
• Knowledge of DAMA DMBOK and/or other data management frameworks;
• A creative solution and customer centric oriented attitude;
• Experience as an architect on complex programs and projects with a heavy IT component;

Knowledge of:

• Architecture frameworks like TOGAF;
• Multiple different Data Platform Strategies (Lakehouse, Data Mesh, etc..);
• Multiple different Data Platform Tools (Databricks, Snowflake, etc..);
• Lakehouse implementations with Azure Data Factory & Azure Databricks;
• Multiple different clouds (Azure, AWS, Google); pré
• SAP stack components, e.g. SAP HANA, SAP BW; pré
• Data Security, User Access Management and Data integration. pré

As a member of the IT Services organization, your our goal is to collect and deliver high-quality data to our customers in the different domains within NN Life & Pensions (L&P). The department is comprised of multiple DevOps teams responsible for managing the current formal reporting processes, as well as teams building a new data foundation for NN L&P. Furthermore you will be the liaison towards NN Group IT and represent NN L&P in the Data & AI Board.
