
Model Developer
What you are going to do
From the Insurance Technology team, we provide substantive expertise to prestigious projects and change processes. We work together in multidisciplinary teams. Insurance Technology is responsible for the actuarial accuracy of calculations, both for strategic programs and for our calculation applications and IT systems. This way, we safeguard the interests of our customers and Nationale-Nederlanden. To make our test tools and information provision future-proof, you take the lead in modernizing and developing our software. Additionally, you provide advice to the chain on quantitative issues.
Specifically, in this role you will:
- Make models future-proof by translating them into Python codes
- Provide substantive expertise to strategic projects and migration programs
- Develop test software to ensure the actuarial accuracy of calculation boxes and IT systems

Who you are
You have a quantitative background, enjoy a substantive challenge, and have an affinity with IT. You easily find your way in various mathematical models and translate complex code into clear language. You are positive, like to share ideas, but are also open to other opinions, making you a pleasant colleague to work with.
Additionally, you have:
- University-level work and thinking
- Experience with programming in Python. Knowledge of VBA and/or object-oriented languages such as C# or Java is a plus
- Knowledge of statistical methods and the ability to explain complex research to stakeholders
- At least 3 years of experience in software development
- A curious and pragmatic mindset and the will to get things done
- A good command of the Dutch language is required
Who you will work with
The Insurance Technology team is part of the Expert Center Services within NN Life & Pension. Together with 11 experienced calculators, analysts, actuaries, and developers, we are the actuarial hub within the Services domain. Within multidisciplinary teams, we collaborate extensively with IT, Legal, Finance, and Risk Management. We work hybrid and have flexible working hours. There are office days where we meet each other, and at the same time, we have all the facilities to quickly find each other online from home
